Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Five Line Studio (“we”), based in Canada, for using fivelinestudio.com. By creating an account you agree to them.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live. One account per person. Keep your email account and passkeys secure: anything done from your account is your responsibility.
What the service does
You give us a story, topic or script. Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, writes the script, draws the scenes, designs the sound and checks the frames. Amazon Polly reads it aloud when you render. AI output can be wrong, odd or similar to other people's videos. Check every video before you post it.
Your content
You keep the rights you have in what you type in and in the videos you make. You give us permission to store, process and send that content to our providers only to run the service for you. You confirm you have the right to use anything you paste in, such as a script someone else wrote.
What you can't make
No sexual content involving minors, ever. No sexual content, real people shown in a harmful or deceptive way, harassment, hate, threats, instructions for violence or weapons, content that promotes self-harm, or anything illegal where you or your viewers are. We also follow Anthropic's Usage Policy. Every story and every video is checked automatically before it's made. A story blocked by that first check doesn't use a draft; one refused partway through writing does. Repeated blocks, or any sexual content involving minors, freeze the account, and we may report illegal content to the authorities.
Credits and payments
- One credit renders up to one minute of voiced video. Prices are shown before you pay, and payments are handled by Stripe.
- Credits never expire, have no cash value and can't be transferred.
- If a render fails on our side, its credits come back automatically. Otherwise purchases are final, except where the law gives you a right to a refund.
- Free accounts get 2 drafts and one rendered video with a Five Line Studio watermark.
- If you dispute a payment with your bank, we remove that purchase's credits and pause the account while the dispute is open.
Keeping things fair
Don't try to get around limits, the content checks or payments, run automated traffic against the site, or create accounts to collect more free drafts. We can pause or close accounts that do, or that break these terms. You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
How long things are kept
Drafts are deleted 30 days after you start them, and rendered videos 30 days after they finish, so download what you want to keep. See the Privacy Policy for everything we store.
No warranty
The service is provided as it is, while it's in beta. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect or lost-profit damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away any protection the law where you live gives you.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it applies. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
